FST-7 Tip: The use of amino acids for muscle growth and recovery.

FST-7 Tip: Het gebruik van aminozuren voor spiergroei en herstel.

In the world of sports nutrition, there is one category of supplements that is often underestimated but physiologically forms the absolute key to muscle building: essential amino acids (EAAs). You can eat as much protein as you want, but if your bloodstream is not saturated with the right amino acids at critical moments, your recovery immediately stalls.

In this FST-7 Tip of the Week, 24-time Olympia-winning coach Hany Rambod explains when to take EAAs for maximum anabolic effect and why this "race fuel" is indispensable for every athlete.

The optimal timing: Intra-workout & between meals

Hany Rambod advises his FST-7 athletes on a very specific timing strategy to prevent muscle breakdown (catabolism) and maximize active recovery processes:

1. During your workout (Intra-Workout)

This is the most important window. During heavy sets, you damage your muscle fibers and physiological stress in your cells increases. By drinking EAAs while training, you flood your bloodstream directly with immediately absorbable building blocks. This instantly stops muscle breakdown on the gym floor and starts protein synthesis even before you finish your last rep.

2. Between your regular meals

If more than 3 to 4 hours pass between your meals, the amino acid level in your blood drops. By consuming EAAs between meals, you close this physiological 'gap.' You keep muscle protein synthesis continuously active without having to burden your digestion again with heavy solid food.

Post-Workout: EAAs or an Isolate shake?

A frequently asked question is whether you should also take free-form EAAs immediately after training. Hany Rambod uses a smart elite sports approach here:

"Directly after training, I prefer an ultra-pure whey isolate like Evogen IsoJect," explains the Pro Creator. IsoJect naturally contains an extremely high spectrum of EAAs and BCAAs. The advantage of a shake after training is that it passes through the stomach quickly, gives you a light feeling of fullness, and immediately feeds your muscles. This perfectly prepares your body for a heavy, solid meal that you eat exactly one hour later.

Natural or "Boosted"? Everyone needs race fuel

Many recreational or natural athletes think that high-end amino acids are only meant for professional bodybuilders or athletes using medical support. Hany Rambod immediately dispels this myth:

"I don't care if you are natural, on hormone replacement therapy (HRT), or training fully boosted: everyone needs these building blocks. In fact, a natural athlete physiologically needs EAAs even more to prevent muscle breakdown." Hany draws a clear comparison: "If you heavily tune a car, it also needs high-quality race fuel to perform at its best and not break down."

Why Amino K.E.M. is the ultimate choice

Hany Rambod designed Evogen Amino K.E.M specifically to fill the gaps in his athletes' physiques. It is the absolute favorite of the Pro Creator due to its unique, scientific composition:

  • Full spectrum EAAs + 8g BCAAs: Contains all 9 essential amino acids in a clinical, loss-free dosage.
  • S7® Plant Extract: This patented extract increases the body's own nitric oxide production by 230%, resulting in a brutal muscle pump and faster delivery of amino acids.
  • Coconut water powder & Electrolytes: Guarantees maximum cell hydration and prevents cramps during heavy sets.
  • Balanced flavor to prevent stomach issues: Hany deliberately did not over-sweeten the formulas. When stacking multiple heavy supplements, an overly sweet taste can lead to mild gastrointestinal distress. Amino K.E.M. is perfectly balanced and easy to digest.
