24-time Olympia winner coach Hany Rambod discusses the key to seated hamstring curls (seated leg curls) with the champion of the Arnold Classic 2024 and Arnold Classic UK, Hadi Choopan. The most important thing is to keep your glutes firmly on the pad throughout the entire movement and actively push your hips backward.
To effectively target the hamstrings, you need to set the machine with the correct biomechanics. Always align your knee perfectly with the pivot point (the counterweight) of the machine and come all the way down to maximize the full range of motion from top to bottom.
Pro tip from the champions: Don’t do cheap reps with partial movements (partial reps). Use partial reps only at the very end of your set to generate extra intensity when the muscle is fully exhausted.
